In 2004, Art for Recovery introduced all-day workshops inviting patients, staff, and visitors to create a "Heart and Healing" image on a 4"x4" canvas.

The canvases were collaged, painted, written on, and enhanced with wire, string, and ribbons.

More than 500 were created, resulting in a display of four lucite boxes, each containing 144 canvases, now on permanent display off of the UCSF Mount Zion Medical Center lobby.
