Exercise training can improve physical functioning in cancer patients. Exercise can reduce feelings of fatigue, depression, and nausea; improve mental well-being and quality of life; and enhance ability to perform daily tasks.
Not only does exercise produce positive changes in energy levels, muscular strength, and joint flexibility, exercise can also produce positive changes in an individual's sense of confidence, mood, and quality of life.
This class includes Pilates based mat exercises to work on core strength and stability. We also use rollers, bands, balloons and body weight as tools to enhance range of motion, flexibility, balance and muscular strength. Our goal is to increase your ability to attend to activities of daily living, and have fun doing it!
This class is taught by Jane Clark, Certified Pilates and Fitness Instructor, and is sponsored by the Cancer Resource Center.
