Title: Strategies to improve response to immune checkpoint blockade in breast cancer

Abstract: Immunotherapeutic interventions that reactivate the endogenous tumor-specific T cell compartment form the most significant development in cancer treatment of the past decade. Although anti-PD(L)1 monotherapy can result in durable responses in patients with metastatic breast cancer, only a small subgroup has substantial clinical benefit. Therefore, our research projects focus on the identification of classical treatment strategies that render the breast tumor micro-environment more sensitive to PD-1 blockade. First data of our adaptive phase II clinical trial in metastatic TNBC evaluating response to anti-PD1 after immune induction using low dose chemotherapy or radiation will be presented.
