UCSF oncology clinical nurse specialist and sex educator, Sueann Mark, PhD, RN, CNS, will discuss how a cancer diagnosis can affect intimate relationships, including common sexual issues that cancer patients experience, their causes (physical and emotional), and ways to increase intimacy. Come learn, talk about, and address this important issue that isn’t always part of the typical “cancer discussion.”
This discussion is open to cancer patients and survivors, as well as partners.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Sueann Mark is a sex educator and a certified advanced oncology clinical nurse specialist who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34. Dr. Mark received her PhD from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and maintained a private sex education and counseling practice for seven years. After her diagnosis, Dr. Mark focused her sex counseling work on the unique needs of breast cancer survivors, and then went on to obtain her MS degree in the Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist program at UCSF. While Dr. Mark continues to write and speak about sexuality and cancer, she now works as a breast imaging nurse navigator and has dedicated herself to breast cancer advocacy for over ten years.
