Integrative Cancer Care Group Visits with Donald Abrams, MD

This three-session Group Visit program for UCSF cancer patients and survivors will be held on the following three Fridays, 10:00 am-12:00 noon:

• January 17
• January 31
• February 14

Leading integrative oncologist Donald Abrams, MD of the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, and former chief of Hematology and Oncology at San Francisco General Hospital, is sought-after by cancer patients around the world.

This 3-visit series covers cancer nutrition, plant therapies and non-traditional medicine:

The Anti-Cancer Diet
Dr. Abrams will offer some recommended foods, herbs and supplements that can be useful for boosting the effectiveness of conventional therapies and countering some of the distressing side effects that may accompany cancer and its treatment.

Using Nature to Heal
Plants have been used for thousands of years to prevent and cure diseases. Dr. Abrams will review what we know and don’t know about botanical therapies and medical cannabis.

Beyond Traditional Medicine
When should you consider complementary and alternative therapies, mind-body interventions, botanical therapies, and Traditional Chinese Medicine? What are they, and what might they offer?

UCSF cancer patients and survivors can be referred by their oncologist or nurse to: Dr. Abrams’ Osher Group Medical Visits (Referral Order #374). Covered by most insurance.

NOTE: This series is not available for patients who have seen or are scheduled to see an integrative oncologist or nurse practitioner at the Osher Center.
