Internationally acclaimed entertainer Bette Midler will perform at the biennial "Raising Hope" gala, which will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at the UCSF Mission Bay Campus.
One of San Francisco's most popular social events, Raising Hope generates funds for the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. Midler's decision to participate is a remarkable testament to the Cancer Center's exceptional work in advancing health worldwide.
Midler has garnered accolades in all quarters of show business, earning four Grammy Awards including Song of the Year and Record of the Year, two Academy Award nominations, three Emmy's, one Tony, three Golden Globes, and nine American Comedy Awards.
(Note that in November 2007 the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center was renamed the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.)
