Overview
As the operational backbone for the SPORE, the Administrative Core coordinates meetings, retreats, and research conferences; generates progress reports for submission to the National Cancer Institute; oversees budgetary matters; and arranges subcontracts. In addition to having oversight for SPORE funds awarded by the NCI, the core also manages supplemental research funds from other sources, which may be distributed to SPORE projects, pilot projects, and cores as instructed by the Steering Committee. The core also manages the application and distribution processes for the use of developmental funds. The group advises and works with project leaders in making final decisions about new initiatives and recommendations for the use of SPORE funds.

The Administrative Core comprises the SPORE principal investigators, the Steering Committee, an administrator, and an administrative assistant.
