2007 BOP Scientific Retreat

The 2007 Retreat, on Friday, May 11, will highlight the following areas/programs within the Breast Oncology Program: breast density; molecular diagnostics; the Early Detection Research Program; the Integrative Cancer Biology Program; the Bay Area Breast Cancer SPORE.

Registration
Pre-registration for the BOP Retreat is now closed. You may register for the event on-site.

Location/Directions
The retreat will be held at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco, located at 3200 California Street. The cross street is Presidio Avenue. Self-paid parking is available in the garage located on-site.

The Jewish Community Center is accessible by public transportation (including MUNI bus lines 1, 2, 4). UCSF staff, students, and faculty may take one of the campus shuttles to the adjacent Laurel Heights campus.

Poster Session
The intent of the poster session on May 11 is to generate interest in current projects and facilitate communications between program members. Posters may have been presented previously at other meetings.

The session categories are:

  • Populations Sciences & Outreach
  • Early Detection & Prevention
  • Molecular Biology of Cancer
  • Therapeutics

Awards will be given for best poster in each of the four categories, and best in show.

General Poster Guidelines
Posters should measure 4 feet x 8 feet (121.92 cm x 243.84 cm), horizontal orientation. Posters should be affixed with pushpins (provided) on the assigned, freestanding poster frame. Use lightweight materials that will affix easily with pushpins. Include the title and authors at the top of the posters in 1-inch high letters. Keep illustrated material simple and make posters as self-explanatory as possible.

Posters may be set up between 9 am and 11:30 am. Amy Akbarian and Julia Bruckner will be available on site to help.
