2013 Event: Bras for the Cause, Tri-Valley SOCKS
In late June five Breast Oncology Program members travelled to Pleasanton to attend the SOCKs Hand over the Goods Party. The program enthusiastically received a check for $70,000 that will support the Developmental Research Program. In the past four years, the SOCKs have contributed a total of $230,000 to the Breast Oncology Program.

The Wolf Pack was comprised of 36 walkers and nine volunteers. Volunteers cheered, blew bubbles and filmed our team. Walkers carried on for 6.2 miles, even after it got dark and their feet began to hurt. Denise Wolf gave a moving and poignant speech to the crowd of walkers. Laura van¹t Veer talked about the UCSF program. Aaron Boudreau, who had raised money by selling cookies in Delores Park, was awarded the "Best Bro-zier"; (Best Guy In A Bra) victory. Andy Chan reached his $1,500 from running club members goal and will be coaching a track work out at Kezar Stadium.
Thank you again to the 36 walkers and nine volunteers who helped to raise over $13,000 for the UCSF team. The SOCKs appreciate our enthusiastic involvement in their walk and especially the important research done by our members.
