UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center

About the Program

The Cancer Survivorship Program is specifically designed for patients who have completed their initial therapy for cancer.  Following treatment for cancer, patients find that they need support that is different from their needs while in active treatment. This program has been designed to enable patients to focus on their path to wellness by providing guidelines clinical care and resources for improving their general health and well being.

After the first year following treatment, many patients find themselves wondering:

  • Now what do I do?
  • Who will have time to answer my questions?
  • How do I make sure I continue the appropriate care?
  •   Will there be venues to update me on the latest findings reported in the news and how these discoveries apply to me?
  • How should I expect to feel in the upcoming years?

The Cancer Survivorship Program has been designed to address these questions, provide resources and enable patients to focus on their path to recovery.

Every month, a Survivorship lecture is offered. These lectures are open to all cancer patients and their family members. Past lectures have included topics such as Coping with Uncertainty, Movement, Nifty Nutrition, Yoga, and Sexuality After Cancer.
