Avocados are a superfood high in healthy fats, fiber and many vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamin K, C, and E. Cacao is the purest form of chocolate. It is much less processed than cocoa powder or chocolate bars. Like avocados, cacao is rich in health promoting antioxidants and has been used throughout many cultures for years for health purposes. This recipe combines avocado and cacao to make a healthy and tasty treat.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ avocadoes, peeled and flesh removed from pit
- 1/3 cup quality cocoa powder (100% pure cacao)
- 1 - 2 T pure maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Start with 1 tablespoon of sweetener and adjust sweetness by adding a touch more maple syrup or honey if desired.
- Serve immediately
