San Francisco Cancer Initiative

The Office of Community Engagement aims to eliminate the inequities that cause cancer disparities in Northern California through community engagement, community-academic partnerships, and the active dissemination of cancer information to increase awareness & knowledge.

Cancer Registries

  • The Cancer Registry of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center collects and manages cancer case information and makes datasets available to UCSF investigators and other interested researchers.
  • The Greater Bay Area Cancer Registry gathers information about all cancers diagnosed or treated within nine counties.

Menthol and Flavored Tobacco Products

Researchers at UCSF and beyond are concerned about the health effects of menthol and other flavored tobaccos which have been disproportionately marketed to communities of color.
