Watermelon Smoothie Cooler

Watermelon is associated with hot summer days and picnics. It is refreshing and high in vitamins and nutrients, especially B-Vitamins. Watermelon is 92% water and is great to keep your body hydrated. Both watermelon and strawberries are rich in anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. Chia seeds are packed with fiber, Omega-3s fats, and protein. “Chia” is the ancient Mayan word for strength. You can add some mint to this smoothie for even more flavor. Enjoy this healthy nutrient-packed smoothie on a hot day!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cubed watermelon
  • 5 frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup coconut water
  • 1 T chia seeds, hemp seeds or flax seed (optional)
  • Sprig of mint (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Boost the smoothie by adding: chia seeds, hemp seeds or flax seed before blending.
