Baked Sweet Potato Fries

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes or yams, well-scrubbed
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 tsp. dried minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Slice each potato in half, then slice each half lengthwise into 4 or 5 pieces
  4. Place the potatoes in a bowl and coat well with the oil
  5. In another small bowl, mix together the dried minced onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  6. Sprinkle over the potatoes and toss well, making sure to distribute the seasonings evenly
  7. Arrange the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake, stirring once or twice, for 20 to 30 minutes
  8. Serve immediately
