Dr. Michael Prados has over 35 years' experience at UCSF in treating both adults and children who have brain tumors. His current research interest is translational and clinical research in pediatric neuro-oncology. He is co-Project Leader of the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC) and co-Scientific Chair of the Children's Brain Tumor Network (CBTN).
Dr. Prados has participated in over 120 clinical research protocols from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), UCSF, and Industry studies -- including 22 early phase trials for children with brain tumors in the last 10 years. He has published over 350 peer-reviewed articles and has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1990. He is currently Professor Emeritus and holds the Charles B. Wilson Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery. In 2014 he was awarded the Victor Levin Award for lifetime clinical research excellence from the Society of Neuro-Oncology.
