Research Summary

Andrea Postier, PhD, MPH is a researcher with expertise in pediatric pain and palliative care for children with chronic conditions and serious illness. Her primary areas of interest are: 1) the parent-caregiver experience as it relates to caring for a child with palliative care needs; 2) pain and symptom management; 3) pediatric palliative care service delivery; and 4) quality improvement. Dr. Postier works in the UCSF Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Pain, Palliative, and Integrative Medicine and Stad Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative, and Integrative Medicine at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals (San Francisco and Oakland). She has been involved with the Education in Palliative and End of Life Care-Pediatrics (EPEC-Pediatrics) program since its inception in 2010 and is currently serving as Co-PI (Friedrichsdorf/Postier) of the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute-funded program Dissemination of the EPEC-Pediatrics Train-the-Trainer Curriculum: Phase 2.
