Professor, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, UCSF
Dr. Stefanie Ueda’s primary interest is in global health as well as clinical capacity building in low and middle-income countries. She helped to start the first gynecologic oncology fellowship in Uganda in 2017, which has been one of most successful training programs sponsored by the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS). She is a member of the NCCN Framework for Resource Stratification Subcommittee in gynecologic cancers, which partners with providers from low and middle-income countries to develop consensus guidelines in resource constrained settings.
Dr. Ueda has served as fellowship director of the UCSF-Kaiser San Francisco gynecologic oncology program since July 2020. The program under her direction has taken on a specific mission to improve access to gynecologic cancer care and to address health equity. She completed the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program and the APGO Surgical Education Scholars Program, with a focus to improve surgical simulation training and procedural teaching for our trainees to develop increasingly complex surgical skills.
